SoundLike Privacy Policy

SoundLike is a pronunciation practice app made by Zen Partner Enterprises, LLC. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is collected, why it is used, and which service providers receive it. SoundLike has no user accounts and does not ask for your name or email address.

No accounts, no profiles

SoundLike does not ask you to sign up, log in, or provide your name, email address, or any other personal details. Your lesson progress, scores, streaks, and settings are stored only on your device. If you delete the app, or use the Erase Everything option in Settings, that data is gone.

AI pronunciation grading and your permission

Before SoundLike records or sends voice-practice data for AI pronunciation grading, the app asks for your permission. If you choose Allow, the app collects a short voice recording through your microphone and the words recognized from that recording. It sends the recording, recognized words, the practice phrase, locally calculated pronunciation scores, a random app-generated device identifier, and your optional native-language selection over an encrypted connection to the SoundLike grading server.

The SoundLike grading server shares the voice recording and practice phrase with Microsoft Azure Speech Services or, if that service is unavailable, SpeechAce. These providers analyze the recording to return pronunciation scores, timing information, and recognized words. SoundLike uses the returned information only to show pronunciation scores and coaching, enforce the free daily grading limit, and improve your in-app lesson recommendations.

SoundLike does not store voice recordings on its server after the grading request, use them for advertising, sell them, or use them to train AI models. Scores, lesson progress, and settings are stored on your device. You may decline permission and may withdraw previously granted permission from Settings. Microsoft and SpeechAce are required by their terms and data-protection commitments to protect the data they process on our behalf at least as carefully as described in this policy.

Purchases

All purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. To unlock what you have bought and restore purchases on a new phone, the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase management service, which stores an anonymous device identifier and your purchase history. That identifier is random and is not connected to your name or email. You can read RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

What we do not do

• No advertising and no ad tracking.
• No analytics that profile you or follow you across apps.
• No selling or sharing of data with data brokers.
• No collection of contacts, location, photos, or anything else outside the microphone audio you choose to record.

Children

SoundLike is not directed at children under 13, and because we collect no personal information, we do not knowingly hold any data about children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
